A concrete driveway is a structural element, not just a surface. Quality starts with proper site preparation. We excavate to the right depth, remove unsuitable soil, and compact the subgrade. The base layer gets installed and graded for drainage. This foundation work prevents the settling and cracking that plague poorly installed driveways.
We use concrete mixes designed for driveway applications. These mixes have the strngth to support vehicle loads and resist our weather. Proper reinforcement with wire mesh or rebar adds structural integrity. Control joints are strategically placed to direct any cracking to planned locations where it’s less visible.

Concrete driveways do far more than serve as a parking area. They are the first impression of your home that visitors will view upon arriving at your home. The concrete driveway is one of the many ways to improve your curb appeal while providing the durability that homeowners of Redmond require. Whether you wish to replace an existing asphalt driveway with a new one, we can build a durable concrete surface that will last.
Having installed numerous concrete driveways within Redmond, we have learned through experience which installation methods work best for our weather conditions. Our wet winters, along with extreme temperatures, require specific installation procedures. As such, when you choose us to build your concrete driveway, you will receive a contractor who has the knowledge of building concrete driveways that withstand the elements and will also be visually appealing.

A step-by-step process is followed in installing a concrete driveway. We first mark out where the concrete will be poured and locate underground utilities prior to excavation of the site down to the correct depth. After that, we properly compact the sub-grade and lay-in base material.
We next install forms so that the edges of the driveway are defined and so that you can establish the correct slope for the driveway. Next, we lay in reinforcement (rebar) and secure it into place. At this point, we schedule the time that the concrete will be delivered, so as to have a continuous pour.
The concrete is then laid down and smoothed out to remove all air pockets from the surface. Once the concrete has been smoothed out, we complete the surface finish by floating, troweling, and applying the desired texture to the concrete. We also tooled or cut control joints at the appropriate time/interval, and after that, the concrete needs to cure for several days before you can allow vehicles on the driveway.
Concrete driveway installation cost is influenced by several elements. The most significant factor is the size of the driveway – larger driveways will have an increased cost for materials and labor. Concrete thickness also impacts the overall cost of the job – it will be more costly to install a 6″ thick slab of concrete as opposed to a 4″ thick slab of concrete because you are using more concrete.
Additionally, site conditions can impact the cost. Removing old pavement, dealing with poor soil, or working around other obstructions may add to your total cost. Additional decorative finishes, such as stamping, coloring, or exposed aggregate, will be more expensive than a basic “broom finish”.
There are many different ways to have a modern concrete driveway besides just a simple gray slab. We provide several different types of concrete driveway designs to fit the style of your house as well as your individual taste. While all of the different designs will give you the same structural support, each one will add an aesthetic value to your house.
Standard Broom Finish
The standard broom finish is a very popular choice for driveways. It offers great traction and has small grooves in it to help prevent slipping and falling. The broom finish is also very functional, inexpensive, and able to withstand the wear and tear of heavy use on a daily basis.
Exposed Aggregate
Exposed aggregate is another type of finish you can put on a driveway. It shows off the stones in the mix. The exposed aggregate finish gives a good textured look to the driveway and has a natural slip-resistant feature. The stones themselves come in a variety of colors, so you can get them to match your house’s exterior or complement it.
Stamped Patterns
Stamped patterns are made by stamping concrete to resemble brick, stone, or tile. A stamped pattern makes the driveway into a focal point of the yard. Stamped patterns especially work well if your house has architectural features that would benefit from the additional texture.
Colored Concrete
You can also add integral color to the concrete mix, which will make the entire slab consistently colored. This will allow you to either match the color of your house’s exterior or complement it. The colors available vary from very subtle earth tones to bold, bright colors.
Decorative Borders
Using decorative borders with contrasting colors or textures can create a visual separation between the driveway and the surrounding area. Decorative borders can be placed around the perimeter of the driveway or used as bands across the driveway. Decorative borders add a level of sophistication to the driveway without greatly increasing the cost.
